The Coach and Horses, now and then

The Coach and Horses is a grade II listed building dating back to 1482 and started life as The Cokk Inn, in 1842 the name changed to The Coach and Horses and it started life as a coaching inn for weary travelers as the name suggests and had a long and rich history until 2015 when it closed its doors and didn’t serve another pint for 8 years.

In 2023 the new independent owners brought new life back into the pub. They also welcomed back previous much-loved landlords Chris and Theresa to run the pub as they did before for 14 years, but this time as partners of a freehold pub.

Opening Times

Monday – Sunday
12pm – 11pm

The pub was transformed with a new feel celebrating the old historic charms of its past, but with a new modern bright cozy atmosphere, which is bound to make you feel at home instantly. The seasonal menus also reflect this diversification, as you will find traditional staples such as Pie and Mash and Cheese Ploughman’s alongside new and more modern dishes like Vietnamese Fries and delicious sharing board. Gluten-Free and Vegetarian/Vegan customers will also find a range of dishes suitable for them to enjoy, so everyone is guaranteed to find something to tickle their tastebuds!

As a local independent business, The Coach and Horses prides itself on supporting local businesses in and around Salisbury, and locally sourcing food and drink are always at the forefront of the business, this is achieved by building relationships with local breweries, distilleries, and food suppliers, these include Dark Revolution, Hopback, Stone Daisy and so many more! The beers and ciders on tap are changed regularly, so you are always going to find something new when you visit!  Also if you like the locally sourced artwork  or the delicious smelling soaps and lotions in the pub then be sure to check out our neighbours Jams Interiors and the Blueberry Den you can find them across the road on Winchester Street as many of our decorative items and scented items have been sourced from them.
